Summer of (yoga) love

The yoga community on Cape Cod is thriving and growing every day. Here are some of the many places to expand your practice whether it is through a regular weekly class or a special workshop, and summertime is the perfect time to explore the many studios and check out new teachers and styles.  

 Three Streams
Location: 157 Worcester Court, Falmouth

Studio Vibe: the "three streams" are the living lineages of yoga, Ayurveda, and tantra. Another common thread is the principle of sustainability, which inspired their motto: “intelligent practices for a purposeful life.”

Philosophy: they believe the rich yoga tradition offers something to all bodies and people from all walks of life, and that your practice not only addresses physical wellness but can also deepen your sense of clarity, empowerment, and joy in life.

Classes: Three Streams Yoga encompasses a range of styles, from vinyasa and hatha to yin, yoga nidra, restorative, foundational classes for beginners, yoga for recovery, and therapeutic yoga. They offer strong asana classes with advanced techniques, but also therapeutic practices to support functional movement, better sleep, and stress reduction, for instance.

Summer Highlights: they are hosting an open house in July which will be a weekend with free classes and a pass sale. And later on in the summer, they are offering a beginners workshop and specialty workshops for both practitioners and yoga teachers.



Rooted Yoga

Location: a boutique yoga studio located at 364 Main Street in Falmouth; a larger studio that will house 2 large studio spaces, childcare, locker rooms and showers will be opening at 661 Main Street, Falmouth in the fall.

Studio Vibe: with a community-centered focus, the heart of Rooted Yoga is palpable from the moment you walk in the door. They are passionate about making yoga and their classes accessible to everyone. 

Philosophy: the classes at Rooted are steeped in the more modern Tantric philosophy of yoga which is empowering to the individual student and welcoming to everyone within the community.

Classes: the studio offers a diverse schedule of yoga classes such as Vinyasa with Guided Meditation, a Monday Morning Reset, Repair & Recover, a Mandala Flow, as well as Pilates and Barre classes.         

Summer Highlights: This summer, they are offering a Yoga Teacher Apprenticeship program that kicks off July 28th.


The Yoga Collaborative

Location: 75 County Road, North Falmouth

Studio Vibe: The Yoga Collaborative is a collaboration of local teacher whose goal it is to provide nurturing classes that allow you to explore your practice and to create and provide a space where the community can learn, practice and grow.

Philosophy: to foster unity as a collaborative, to feel gratitude in being able to do what we love and support one another’s growth, and to support one another’s growth.

Classes: many of the classes offered are a flow class like the Tuesday night class by Michele Netto who believes that everyone can benefit from yoga regardless of age and physical mobility.  She believes yoga gives all of us the opportunity to find space in our bodies, our minds and our breath and when we give ourselves that space, our soul is nourished and restoration and rejuvenation happens.

Summer Highlights: they offer a Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga 4 week series – a hybrid of stand-up paddle boarding and yoga, where you experience the peacefulness of floating on the water, the meditation of yoga and a great core workout.


innerglow Yoga Cape Cod

Location: 30 Steeple Street, Mashpee Commons

Studio Vibe: the Mashpee Commons studio offers a warm, welcoming, nurturin and positive atmosphere.

Philosophy: their sole mission is to introduce you to a path of becoming your truest, happiest self, one breath at a time.

Classes: innerglow yoga offers an array of yoga and meditation classes for all levels. From gentle to power, you will find a class that speaks to your heart.

Summer Highlights: Sundays in July and August they are offering a class from 11am-12pm at Cape Cod Winery, where you can enjoy a glass of wine after your vinyasa yoga class. In August, there is a workshop focused on embodying the five elements through yoga, as well as a new moon intention setting vision board workshop.



Village Yoga

Location: 70 Industry Road, A-1, Marstons Mills

Studio Vibe: a small boutique studio in an old carriage house, where small classes allow for more individualized attention.

Philosophy: their philosophy is yoga can be practiced by everyone no matter what age, shape or level of experience, and their goal is to offer a friendly and supportive space for transformation and personal growth.

Classes: they offer all styles of yoga classes and specialize in Kundalini Yoga. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga, you will find an opportunity to strengthen the body, quiet the mind, and connect with spirit.

Summer Highlights: workshops including Meet Your Power Animal on July 11, Meet Your Master Guides on July 25 and a 4-part workshop on Dream Tending in August.

Centerville Yoga & Wellness Center

Location: 1600 Falmouth Road (right on Route 28) Centerville (a village in the town of Barnstable)

Studio Vibe: a warm, welcoming space that offers yoga classes for all levels, as well as massage, reiki, reflexology along with an infrared sauna.

Philosophy: the studio has been offering high-quality, convenient and affordable yoga classes for over 13 years. They encourage people to begin where you are; quiet your mind; love your body; and inspire your life.

Classes: they offer everything from gentle, restorative, and chair yoga classes to more advanced classes like moderate Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow for those looking for a more challenging practice.

Summer Highlights: they are known for their Beach Yoga class they offer on Craigville Beach on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8-9am, the perfect opportunity for beginners and families to practice while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful ocean view.

Bettina Yoga

Location: Bettina holds regular classes and workshops at Centerville Yoga & Wellness, a community yoga class at Centerville Library, as well as free yoga classes on the Yarmouth Port Village Green every Wednesday starting July 10 from 8-9am.

Practitioner Vibe: Bettina is recognized for her calm and grounding meditative experiences. She offers a steady, mindful yoga practice incorporating clear and concise instruction. Bettina is a Reiki Master Teacher and leads monthly crystal bowl Sound Meditations. She loves infusing her yoga classes with the Reiki energy and the sounds of the crystal bowls.   

Philosophy: she views yoga as a practice for deep connection and loves working with all ages and physical abilities. In a quiet, non-competitive atmosphere, Bettina’s style of teaching consists of gentle stretches and movement, breathing techniques and meditation. 

Classes: Bettina offers weekly mat/chair classes and private instruction at Centerville Yoga & Wellness, and also has shared sensory yoga in senior living communities throughout the Cape and offers private yoga experiences in homes and organizations.

Summer Highlights: Bettina will offer a Crystal Bowl Sound Meditation on Friday, August 2 from 6-7:30pm at Centerville Yoga and on Saturday, August 24 from 4-5:30pm at Innerglow Yoga in Mashpee. She will also offer a Restorative Yoga class with live music on Friday, September 6 from 6:30-8:30pm at Centerville Yoga.



Outermost Yoga

Location: classes are held at 494 Commercial Street, Provincetown, 2nd floor.

Studio Vibe: authentic and well-being inspired; empowering mindful lifestyles.

Philosophy: they are dedicated to empowering mindful lifestyles by promoting and advancing yoga and wellness activities and practitioners in Provincetown and on the Outer Cape. Yoga can be the single-most powerful tool for transformation and healing in life.

Classes: the studio offer classes based in flow and breath work; and the community also offers workshops and retreats.

Summer Highlights: workshops include Partner Yoga, Thai Yoga and Inversions. They are also offering a Men’s Yoga and Adventure Retreat in early August that combines movement and meditation with plant-based dinners, picnic lunches, tours of Provincetown, and fun in the sun on the National Seashore.
